For the evaluation of water quality WQI tool has been used. Data was collected in the pre and post-monsoon seasons. pH; Turbidity, Dissolved Oxygen, Fecal Coli forms, Biological Oxygen Demand, Total Phosphates, Nitrates and Total Dissolved Solids have been taken to calculate Water quality Index using an online calculating softaware20, 21. The present study revealed that Gandhi Sagar Lake is more polluted than that of Gorewada Lake, although few parameters have shown a variation with reference to surface water standards.
