The present study was aimed to estimate the current status of Physico-chemical characteristics of Ashti lake in Wardha district, Maharashtra in period January 2023 to December 2024. Changes in Physico-chemical parameters such as Ambient temperature, Water temperature, PH, Conductivity, transparency, Total dissolved solids, Free CO2, Alkalinity, Total hardness, Chlorides, Phosphates, Dissolved oxygen, Biological oxygen demand, Chemical oxygen demand were analyzed for one year 2023 to 2024.
The results of the present study indicate that all the physical and chemical properties of Ashti lake water were within desirable limits. Favorable changes were observed in concentration of Total dissolved solids, Total hardness, chlorides, Nitrates, Phosphates, Dissolved oxygen and Biological oxygen demand. The seasonal analysis over the period of one year suggest that the lake water suitable for drinking purpose.
