Catalase is the industrially important enzyme having immense market value and numerus applications in various industries. Fungi are well known for their ability to produce extracellular enzymes. Fungi are ubiquitous in nature and leaf litter are good source of fungi which are isolated from tropical forest. Four fungi namely Aspergillus niger, two species of Trichoderma and Mucor sp. are isolated from leaf litter collected from forest areas around Nagpur district. Isolated fungi screened for their ability to produced cellulase and amylase. Isolated fungi showed ability to produce both the enzymes.
