Description :
The TLC determination of amino acids in the last instar larva of the dragonfly, Trameavirginia under normal and starved condition was carried out. In all 16 amino acids were detected in the haemolymph of lastinstarlarva, i.e. Alanine, Argenine, Asparticacid, Cystine, Glutamicacid, Glycine, Histidine, Isoleucin, Leucin, Lycine, Ornithine, Proline, Threonine, Tryptophan, Tyrosine and Valine. From the TLC chromatogram it appears that the concentration of proline is always found to be the highest, followed by graded depletion of Aspartic acid, Glycine and Leucine and traces of Cystine, Threonine, Valine and Tyrosine.
