Lumpy skin disease is a high-consequence disease in cattle caused by infection with the poxvirus lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV). As LSDV spreads into new regions, it is important that signs of disease are recognized promptly by animal caregivers. So far approximately 1.43 lakh cattle affected by lumpy skin disease in Maharashtra. A novel research study is in progress at “Gaurakshan Santhan”, MauliDhande Dist Daryapur on the prevention of the Lumpi desease under the supervision of Prof. G.R.Bharskale. This study describes the gross, microscopic, and ultrastructural changes that occur over time in cattle experimentally challenged with LSDV. In this method special type of paste made at “Gaurakshan Santhan from Natural Medicinal plants like Turmeric, Neem, and some special plants. The Infected cattle were washed daily with the Neem extracted water. The Bio paste is inoculated on the skin of the infected cattle’s everyday and monitored for 19 to 21 days. Also to prevent infection and spread of the virus a bio Manure waste was burned, the fumes of the the special modified manure is help to prevent the spreading the virus. During this time a special team of Veterinary doctors also monitor and observe their findings on the infected cattle’s. This study highlights the noteworthy observations on the prevention and control of Lumpi Skin Disease.
