India and all over the world is facing the worst situation of covid-19 pandemic in recent history. At the end of the year 2019, the novel corona virus disease emerged in Wuhan city of China. The increasingly severe situation is getting worsen and nearly 138 crore Indians are facing high to extreme pandemic disease stress. Till date (21 June, 2020) about 4,63,000 people died all over the world and in India about 13,254 people died because of this pandemic. WHO has declared it as a global health emergency on 30 January, 2020. The main objective of the paper is to assess the indirect positive and negative environmental impacts of COVID-19 pandemic situation and climate change and adaptation. After reviewing the current research, it can be concluded that there is a significant association between contingency measures and improvement in water quality, air quality, clean beaches, reduction of noise pollution, healing the ozone hole, freedom to wildlife etc. While on the other hand, there are also negative impacts such as the large amount of plastic used for making PPE kit, mask, sanitizer plastic bottle, gloves and reduction of recycling and increase in hazardous waste. The massive amount of waste generated is the household waste due to the lockdown situation and biomedical waste during pandemic situation. The rate of demand of water increased because most of the water used for washing hands, disinfected materials, household cleaning etc. during lockdown of covid-19. One of the important negative impact is the changed life style of human being, also several peoples lost their jobs and businesses have been shut down. Both positive and negative impacts are temporary because after unlocking situation it will be as it was earlier. In the context of this the adaptation of new eco-friendly and green technologies is the permanent key for solving environmental problems. Also, there is need of new rules and regulation for Covid-19 because we have to live with Corona virus up to the availability of medicine and vaccine.
