Studies of the complexes of alkali metal such as Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs with the ligand
isonitroso-4-chloroacetophenone (4-CIINAP) have been performed. Complexes have been
assigned the formula M(4-CIINAP)2 (where M= alkali metals) on the basis of elemental analysis,
magnetic properties, conductance measurement, spectral studies and antimicrobial activity.
